Taking suggestions on two things

We're going to run our monthly national poll this weekend, even though it's only been three weeks since the last one.

So I'm looking for your suggestions on two things:

-Outside the box questions. Last month we asked about whether people thought ACORN stole the election. In the past we've asked about things like whether the Government should stay out of Medicare and whether people think Obama is the anti-Christ. We like to get a few of that type of question on every survey.

-The 4th Republican. We'll continue to take a monthly look at Mike Huckabee (which should be very interesting this week), Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney and we've been switching up the fourth Republican on a month to month basis. I'll take nominations for the next 24 hours and then let you vote on it- anyone but Ron Paul, since we did him on the last poll.

  1. Would Lou Dobbs make an impact in the GOP?

  2. Here's an interesting one that you might consider: Do you think Hillary Clinton would have performed better, the same, or worse, as president, than President Obama?

  3. Would be interesting to see how Dick Cheney polls against this group now.

  4. I'm thinking Gingrich.
Out of the box question: if your candidate loses the primary, and runs as a third party candidate, will you vote for him/her?

  5. Cheney or Pawlenty as 4th GOP. In addition to F/UF for GOPers ask the question if they are "qualified" to be POTUS? For outside the box, do a 3rd party poll like Ras did last week (maybe using Dobbs/Paul/etc) and compare it to just GOP vs Obama. Also could ask as of today, would you vote for Obama for POTUS?

  6. "Does Obama hate white people?" for the out of the boxer question.

As for the fourth GOPer: I'll also go with Dick Cheney.

  7. Outside the box:

How much is too much for a health care premium?

Should k-12 schools be allowed to check for criminal records of every visitor, even parents/guardians?

How did you dispose of your previous computer?

Should all new government/school buildings be built to LEED standards?

What's the best way to pay for transportation costs?

Should every state be required to have mandatory deposits on beverage containers?

Are socialism and marxism the same thing?

4th Repub: Tim Pawlenty, Tom Tancredo, George Allen

  8. How about Haley Barbour? He's popular with GOP insiders, popular in his home state of Mississippi, and was about the only elected official that came out of the horror of Katrina looking pretty good. He likely has low name recognition, but he's a sleeper - in my opinion - that Democrats should be scared of.

And slightly more unconventional choice, how about Marco Rubio?

  9. As a poker fan, I would be interested in getting some numbers as to how popular the ban is on online gambling enacted by the Bush administration. Something along the lines of "Would you favor or oppose legalizing online gambling such as online poker?"

  10. Have seen previous results on how many Americans think Hawaii isn't a state. What about Alaska?

  11. Next year, should the US spend more/less/the same to fight in Afghanistan?

When should all our troops come home from Afghanistan: 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, as long as needed.

  12. If Giuliani snags Gillibrand's Senate seat, you can look for Rudy to join Huckabee and Romney in pursuit of the presidency once again. With McCain not running, and Independents having only GOP primaries to participate in, there appears to be a significant opening in the field for the socially moderate/economically conservative former New York mayor.

  13. How about Rudy Giuliani for Republican? He has the best name id, other than maybe Cheney. However, he has a much better chance of making it out the primary.

  14. Dick Cheney as the fourth Republican.

  15. Please add John Thune to candidates for consideration.

  16. How about this:

Do you think Obama believes OJ Simpson is guilty or innocent of the murders of Anna Nicole Smith and Ron Goldman?

  17. I think you should poll Dick Cheney as the 4th GOPer. And for the out of the box question poll a match up of Barack Obama and George W Bush.

  18. 4th Republican possibilities:
    - Gov. Haley Barbour (someone already mentioned him in this thread)
    - Governor Bob McDonnell (VA). That would be interesting to see.
    - Gov. Mitch Daniels (IN).

  19. 1) "President Obama recently announced his plan to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan. Do you think this troop increase should be paid for with new taxes, or should the additional cost be added to the deficit?"

    2)4th Republican: Glenn Beck

  20. What about Bob McDonnell or Chris Christie ?

    Just for fun ...

  21. How about this? How much of the federal stimulus money was used to provide a tax cut for low and middle income Americans?
