Our poll in the field right now for release next week is our big monthly survey on North Carolina politicians and issues. We'll have approval ratings for Barack Obama, Bev Perdue, Kay Hagan, and Richard Burr, look at how Burr and Elaine Marshall would stack up for the Senate, look at how Burr does on the generic ballot, take the pulse of Rush Limbaugh's popularity in the state, and poll on several key issues in the General Assembly.
For next week I want to do a poll about what Pennsylvanians think about the possibility of Arlen Specter changing parties but I'm afraid we might get beaten to the punch on that so I'm open to other suggestions too...the key for us as usual is that we want to deliver something unique so fire away and we'll think about it.
I would be more intersted in seeing a PA Sen Republican primary poll. You could also poll all PA voters to see if THEY would be willing to switch their registration to Republican in order to vote for Specter in the Primary.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rather random request, but given the new executive order lifting the federal funding ban, I'm curious to know if there's public support for stem cell research in North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteSen. Hagan and Rep. Miller came out with strong statements in support of Obama's action, so I'm interested in seeing if the numbers are their to support their positions.
Pennsylvania is the state to keep an eye on, so polling from there from one of the best firms would be greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a gun law question? On the one side, PA is the state of bitter small town voters clinging to their guns. On the other side, there seems to be a rather organized anti-guns grassroot campaign in the state, and Ed Rendell campaigned successfully on strengthening gun laws- so this might be interesting.
ReplyDeleteA few suggestions:
ReplyDelete(1) You could test Nevada's Senate race to see if Reid could be vulnerable to Ron Porter or another Republican (there's been one poll of that, but it dates back to 2008).
(2) You could test Hawaii's Senate race to see if Lingle could get anywhere.
(3) There's been one R2000 poll of KY, but I would love another...
But I agree that PA is very rarely polled, and some g-e match-ups would be great.
I wouldn't mind seeing a South Dakota poll testing Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin and other Democrats against Lt. Gov. Daugaard in a race for governor. Assuming she does jump in, you could also poll some possibilities for the open house seat.
