Scott Brown leads Martha Coakley 51-46 in our final Massachusetts Senate poll, an advantage that is within the margin of error for the poll.
Over the last week Brown has continued his dominance with independents and increased his ability to win over Obama voters as Coakley's favorability numbers have declined into negative territory. At the same time Democratic leaning voters have started to take more interest in the election, a trend that if it continues in the final 36 hours of the campaign could put her over the finish line.
Here's what we found:
-Brown is up 64-32 with independents and is winning 20% of the vote from people who supported Barack Obama in 2008 while Coakley is getting just 4% of the McCain vote.
-Brown's voters continue to be much more enthusiastic than Coakley's. 80% of his say they're 'very excited' about voting Tuesday while only 60% of hers express that sentiment. But the likely electorate now reports having voted for Barack Obama by 19 points, up from 16 a week ago, and a much smaller drop from his 26 point victory in the state than was seen in Virginia.
-Those planning to turn out continue to be skeptical of the Democratic health care plan, saying they oppose it by a 48/40 margin.
-Coakley's favorability dropped from 50% to 44% after a week filled with perceived missteps. Brown's negatives went up a lot but his positives only actually went from 57% to 56%, an indication that attacks against him may have been most effective with voters already planning to support Coakley but ambivalent toward Brown.
-56% of voters in the state think Brown has made a strong case for why he should be elected while just 41% say the same of Coakley. Even among Coakley's supporters only 73% think she's made the argument for herself, while 94% of Brown's supporters think he has.

Margin of error, sure, but good news for Brown, bad news for Obamacare.
ReplyDeleteIf Brown holds on, he may become a bigger rockstar than Sarah Palin in GOP circles.
ReplyDeleteSo is that it? Coakley is doomed?
ReplyDeleteGoodbye, ObamaCare... it was nice knowing you. This election will be followed by a wave of Democratic retirements.
ReplyDeleteWith the dynamics reported in this poll, it's hard to see an increase of interest in Democratic voters actually being enough to pull Coakley over the finish line. Rather, this seems to be a gracious nod on the part of the pollsters to the side that is on its way to losing -- nothing more.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Senate, Mr. Brown.
Do you have an estimated turnout percentage?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I can't get the PDF to load...I am guess too much traffic for the server.
Finally did you ask about voters who had voted already and how they voted?
I am sorry , but I dont get it. A week ago it was a one point race, Brown gained 3 points and goes over 50 %, Coakley looses a point.
ReplyDeleteFurther, Brown gains now to 20% of the Obama Voters and maintains his lead with independents.
So where does the lifeline of hope "if this trend continues it could take her over the finish line" come from?
Turn out the lights the party is over..... Coakley is falling further behind
ReplyDeleteThe trend that could put Coakley over the finish line (but probably won't) would be that Dems who didn't expect to vote last week are now planning to do so, and most of them are voting for Coakley. Thus far, that trend doesn't compensate for Brown's ability to persuade the previously undecided to vote for him, but if more and more Dem voters join the electorate, or if this poll errs on the low side of their actual numbers, Coakley could win. I'm working for her on election day, and I want her to win, and I see why PPP thinks she might, but I also see why PPP thinks she probably won't. Good person; bad candidate.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say "within the margin of error" you really mean "within the margin of ACORN" don't you?
ReplyDelete"So where does the lifeline of hope "if this trend continues it could take her over the finish line" come from?"
ReplyDeleteIt's called covering all your bases.
It looks like it's over for Coakley.
ReplyDeleteAll the recent polls have her behind.
I think it's going to be a blowout.
If Brown wins, this will be the biggest political shocker since....uh, um....I can't think of a bigger shocker in the past 20 years. This is unreal. I love it. You can feel the country changing. Oh and when Obama wakes up Wednesday it will be his 1 year anniversary in office. Happy Anniversary! Wow, this is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'll go kill myself now, thanks!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, the polling was done after Obama came in and stumped for Coakley, so that 20% may be off by several points. Facts we new prior to this poll...Brown supporters continue to be ambivalent.
Meade, that's the pollster's spin on the numbers. This is a Democrat pollster. They're honest and don't cook their books, but they're still going to give the results a partisan spin.
ReplyDeleteWow, there's a lot of trolls on this site.
ReplyDeleteBrown ran a good race, Coakley got caught cruising and has had to make up some speed. But she'll still win. It will be closer than anyone expected, but no way does Mr. All I'm Good for Is Taking Off My Shirt make it to Senate.
There couldn't be a worse time for complacency here. It ain't over till it's over, and the leftists have (believe it or not) not begun to drag out the dirty tricks.
ReplyDeleteCoakley is going to win-period.
ReplyDeleteBrown is soooo wrong for Massachusetts. It is close-no doubt, but she will prevail.
You right-wing drones are aware that the democrats could still pass "Obamacare" even if Scott Brown wins, right? I woudn't get cocky just yet.

you don't see any mention of this by either Dems or the pollster but 3 guesses what happened to all those Dems for McCain/Palin voters? Why, they are the registerd Dems that are voting for Brown of course! party affiliation means nothing with millions of Dems that crossed the line in 2008-and we never went back :)
So where does the lifeline of hope "if this trend continues it could take her over the finish line" come from?
ReplyDelete-------------
it only exists in the empty heads of liberasl, trolls and desperate Democrats in Washington.
Moreso, everyone, including them know Martha is toast. only the trolls and the incredibly stupid in the Dem party think there is hope
A 5 point lead with a+/-2.8% margin of error, how is it within the poll's margin of error? 1231 likely voters is a large sample - sounds like a political hedge more than a statistical hedge.
ReplyDeleteGo Senator Scott Brown!
Bitchin!
ReplyDeleteAs a Mass voter and based on your polls, I find it very interesting that Coakley is competitive at all. Brown has a huge advantage in the favorability poll and Healthcare is a dramatic loser in its favorability poll. It is strange because if someone doesn't like Coakley or doesn't want healthcare then why would they vote for Coakley, yet they do.
ReplyDeleteThis suggests that many of Coakley's votes are purely because of party duty, Obama pride, female pride or some other confusion.
I actually think voting for Brown will help Obama because it will force him to be more honest and fair and stop the curious deal making that is getting him in so much trouble.
I appreciate your honesty in the polling you have done throughout this Brown/Coakley debacle, even if it was not your preferred outcome. You reported honestly.
ReplyDeleteI read that you have Obama's approval at 44% and disapproval at 43%. That seems way low to me.
ReplyDelete@MellieZa,
ReplyDeleteThis poll was completed on saturday, before Obama came in on Sunday.
With Patrick Kennedy having called her "Marcia" repeatedly, Dems simply don't get that this wasn't a gimme. No seat is safe. Yelling "Republican!" at the opponent won't work. Vague "Hope and Change" has run its course. So there is a fork in the road - go to the left and double down or go to the center and lose the base.
ReplyDeleteI would rate this as the most significant election in the past 40 years. It now appears if Coakley wins, it will be an upset based on all the polling done. I would like to know how many had already voted by absentee and what those totals showed. In the event of a close vote on election night, those votes might make the difference.
ReplyDeletePeople keep calling this race a "shocker" and an "upset." How is it a shocker or an upset? We already have polls suggesting Brown is going to win. Frankly, it would only be a shocker if he DIDN'T win. I think people just like to make these elections seem more thrilling than they are.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your polling... awesome result.
ReplyDeleteOMG: a VIDEO SPOOF of Coakley vs. Brown is going around online! Funny, but factual. Coakley= “iDon’t”… know how to spell Massachusetts and more embarrassing gaffes!

Yeah, didn't Public Policy Polling also predict a Hoffman winning the NY-23 race not too long ago? Yeah, I don't think this is a reputable poll. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteAll the right wing nutters are positively giddy right now. Please elect more of these tea-party drones ,finish the job of destroying America, and maybe THEN the so-called independents will wake up0
ReplyDelete"Good person...bad candidate."
ReplyDeleteGood people don't campaign to keep innocent men in prison. Coakley's role in Gerald Amirault's case can never be forgiven or forgotten.
I would say, "Evil person...horrible candidate." But hey: the president supports her, so it's not surprising she's a reprehensible human slime.

________________________________
Did you really just say that Brown supporters are..."ambivalent"? Do you live under a rock, or in a cave, perhaps? Have you been watching the same news reports and polls that the rest of us have been watching? Even liberal commentators are saying that Brown supporters are sooooo much more excited about voting for Brown, than Coakley's supporters are about voting for her. Do you own a dictionary? Do you have any idea whatsoever what the word "ambivalent" means? You can try to trash Brown and his supporters if you wish, but if you have any desire whatsoever to be taken at least somewhat seriously, you're going to have to come up with an attack that is - at the very least - based in reality.
Who paid for the polling, that could have much to do with the results of this poll.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the name of the fellow running?
ReplyDeleteU.S. Senator Scott Brown!
Now imagine for Republican Scott Brown wins with 51%, and Libertarian Joe Kennedy gains 2%, which is around what he's been polling.
ReplyDeleteWhat message does that send?
That the electorate wants very limited government; not just somewhat less government, but extremely limited government. As in, abolish government agencies, get rid of the income tax, repeal nanny-state laws, ect...
An enormous victory for the libertarian Tea Party movement indeed.
and this is just the beginning of taking our country back.......Hooray!
ReplyDeleteI'm from MA..
ReplyDeleteThis is a historic election without a doubt. Unless Brown wins by 7 - 10% it will have no effect on Obamacare. A recount would ensue and drag on for weeks allowing the Senate to vote on it before he arrived in DC. Neither candidate could make a difference on Healthcare unless it was a Brown landslide.
I'll vote for Brown simply out of principle. That's one Obama vote he lost for Coakley.....
Doesn't matter if there's a recount. According to the constitution (assuming Dems want to follow it), Paul Kirk's last vote is Tuesday. He's not allowed to continue to vote just because someone isn't certified.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you retards on this forum saying "goodbye obamacare" Even if the party of Tard wins in Mass, it will take 2 weeks to swear him in, and the bill will be signed by then. Even if not, they will take it to reconciliation where 51 votes are needed. OR.....The house will accept the senate version and another vote is not needed. So, for your Idiots that are repblicans, there are 3 options and one of those will prevail. Nuff said.
ReplyDeletepinlic policy polls gave doug hoffman 11% lead of bill owens in NY23 race and we know the result of that ellection see this link http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/11/poll-hoffman-leads-owens-in-ny-23.php
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many voters who are Red Sox fans are gonna vote for Brown to stick it to that Montreal Canadiens fan Martha Coakley
ReplyDeleteThis is promising! I can't wait to vote tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHealth care legislation will pass either way. I do not really see the big deal here. People generally believe in checks & balances and the minority party voters are more likely to go to the polls. If anything this last wave could actually lose it for Brown as the Mass. Dems are waking up to the reality of a loss.
ReplyDeleteDo not make the mistake that the Dem's won't STEAL this election

Fantasy world stuff.
Anonymous said: "I would like to know how many had already voted by absentee and what those totals showed"
ReplyDeleteAs of yesterday, the absentee ballots counted SO FAR was Brown 53%, Coakley 32%. Of course we know that when the Democrat shenanigans start, it will be in the UNCOUNTED absentee ballots. They are the best prospect.
I did not see what the other 15% were. Surely NOT Kennedy?
If your margin of error is at least 5 points, that means you surveyed 400 people or fewer. Not exactly a huge sample...
ReplyDeleteThe Thank You Tour to the people of Massachusetts begins this Wednesday for electing Scott Brown to the Senate. We as a nation need to make vacation plans to this state sometime this year and personally thank the people for what I believe is the beginning of holding our elected officials accountable. Scott Brown hit a Home Run when he indicated he was not running for Ted Kennedy's seat, but for the People of Massachusetts seat. Come Novemeber, a lot of incumbents, both Democrat and Republican, should be looking for new jobs. Again, a Huge Thank You to the people of Massachusetts for doing the right thing and electing Scott Brown. Now, the rest of the country needs to follow Massachusett's lead.
ReplyDeleteI realize that the main theme here has been Health Reform. And it IS one Dog of a bill! But it CAN be repealed before the thing actually goes into effect (well after 2013) and that "don't change me" crap Reid put on the Death Panels (yes, they ARE Death Panels. Read the Statement in the Bill, more "death" than life in that panel) is unconstitutional AND against the rules of the Senate itself, so, it's gone.
ReplyDeleteThe BIG picture is not Health Care! It's AMNESTY! If you can think of one thing that will REALLY kill America like Amnesty, post it and say why. For every ONE post on something else, I'll give you TWO for how Amnesty is worse. It IS the sleeper bill for the year. Everything from rationing resources, food, landfills, gasoline, heating fuel, water, etc, to Democratic Control until the "new citizens" wise up, if ever. If THAT don't scare you, you are dead as Teddy. It's 1000's X worse than the Global Warming scam.
Research the bill that Rep Guieterezz has in the House, READY TO BE VOTED ON, and see if I'm lying.
All the forces of momentum are in Brown's favor. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a great day for America.
ReplyDeleteThree automatic Democratic voters I contacted agreed not to vote in this election after I gave my Scott Brown message. Choakley has very weak support if any amongst informed voters.
ReplyDeleteThe american electorate are a very fickle bunch. A year ago, they wanted change - including health care reform. Now, they don't know what they want. In the end, they will get exactly what they asked for.
ReplyDeleteHat's off to the Republican's for convining american's to rally around the Health Insurance Companies this past summer. Another indicator that the american electorate listen more to "made up stuff" than the truth.
Scott Brown says that he will be the self-annointed killer of health care reform. He will certainly make sure that we are guarantted to see our premiums rise and our benefit get erroded next year. Who, out there, saw their benefit get better? Wait 'til next year. Once the health plan in Congress dies, it will open the door for the Insurance Companies to continue increasing profits by squeezing your benefit. Why? Because the Congress will have no stomach to continue the fight for the near term (my estimate is 10 years). More people will need to lose their insurance, have premiums escalate, or pay a higher premium and get nothing for it. Good luck with that america, but don't say you weren't warned.
Did Scott mention that he and his family benefit from a social health care program (yes, social) that guarantees him access to quality, affordable health care (on the public dime) that he can't be denied? I figured he wouldn't. Ask him about how Tricare for retired reserve and national guard members (under the age of 60) was included in the recently approved Defense Authorization Act. Many vet and military society's lobbied (yes, military members have a huge lobby in Washington and I'm sure that Scott pays his dues) congress to get this passed. It's amazing how hypocritcal he is. He will get his, but will deny others their ability to finally have access to a health care system that treats them fair and equitable.
He will probably win. Poor campaigning on the part of Martha Coakly. Don't be surprised if Scott snuggles up against Mitch McConnell and the others. He will need to if he wants to survive.
The Mass Senate race was a relatively easy task for the Repubs. Scott is a normal, likeable person. It will be interesting watching them boil down there wide range of views(tea-pary wacko's to middle of the road conservatives) into one candidate during the mid-terms and the 2012 General Election. They will find that the monster they created isn't easily tamed.
Bill Clinton hit the nail on the head when he said the revolution started in Boston. Of course, he was stumping for Coakley, but his comment was very poignant. As a native Texan, I never thought I would see the day when we would stand shoulder to shoulder with Mass. But the corruption, arrogance, and elitism of this administration (not to mention a bill America does NOT want) seems to have brought all Americans together. Obama promised he would unite Americans, and he has done just that. Unfortunately for him, Americans are uniting against his Chicago style politics. Mass, we are proud of you. Start the revolution and the rest of the country will finish it in November!
ReplyDeleteCoakley's unfavorable rating is above 50% and yet the conclusion is that she is still in the race??? Not likely. Candidates with such high unfavorables close to an election invariably lose(as long as the opponents unfavorables are much lower - Brown's are only 37%). This is even truer for special elections and primaries, where voters see no inherent obligation to vote. A lot more of Brown's supporters are excited about the race and this means they are more likely to go to the polls (Brown get 59% versus Coakley's 40% among the most interested voters). Coakley is not just likely to lose, it could be a route.
ReplyDeleteTeddy is turning in his grave. Chalk another one up to special interests and a fearful America.
ReplyDeleteWe are watching this election in Massachusetts closely here in California (another big liberal broke down state). Just only dreaming about the day that Polosi, Boxer, Feinstein face the same fate for corrupting our beautiful sunshine state with our hard earned tax money. Watched Coakly demonize Wall Street in her speech yesterday. Funny that the Dems don't bring up the corruption of the federal reserve who made record tax free profits of 52B more than the oil/banks put together. NO mention of the unpopular health care bill.
ReplyDeleteGo get um Mr Brown!!
Texas,
ReplyDeleteDon't be too proud. You have (what may be) the worst record of providing Health Insurance in the country. Put that on a campaign sign and post it in your front yard.
Texas:
Employer 45.6%
Individual 4.1%
Medicaid 13.5%
Medicare 10.2%
Other Public 1.4%
Uninsured 25.2%
Massachusetts:
Employer 60.8%
Individual 3.4%
Medicaid 17.4%
Medicare 12.6%
Other Public 0.4%
Uninsured 5.4%
http://www.statehealthfacts.org/profile.jsp
Again, Scotty fully supported the Mass Health Reform, but will ensure that he keeps affordable, quality care out of the hands of the general electorate. He has no honor.
Most people have no idea what the state of our health care system is in this country until they need it - and then the rude awakening.
The fact that it is even a close race in Massachusetts should get ALL Democrats attention.
ReplyDeleteMartha you know you're in trouble when even liberal pollsters see the writing on the wall.
ReplyDeleteCoakley like most Democrats was arrogant believing it was her birthright to assume this open Senate seat. She did almost no advertising until she knew she was in trouble and then resorted immediately to Democrat campaign option number one don't debate your positions because you'll lose big, instead issue attack ads, what everyone failed to remember is that Massachusetts has far more voters registered as unenrolled than are enrolled as a Democrat or Republican COMBINED, and after every attack Brown surged in the polls because attack ads appeal only to the already decided hard core, so even if the Democrat base shows up big an equally big turnout of unenrolled voters the vast majority of which support Brown will be more than enough to steamroll Coakley back into the stone age. Go Scott, what can Brown do for you!!!!
Address at a New York Rally in Support of the President's Program of Medical Care for the Aged, May 20, 1962.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/index.php?pid=8669&st=&st1
"The point of the matter is that this meeting and the others indicates that the people of the United States recognize one by one, thousand by thousand, million by million, that this is a problem whose solution is long overdue. And this year I believe, or certainly as inevitably as the tide comes in next year, this bill is going to pass.
And then other people say, "Why doesn't the Government mind its own business?" What is the Government's business, is the question.
Harry Truman said that 14 million Americans had enough resources so that they could hire people in Washington to protect their interests, and the rest of them depended upon the President of the United States and others.
This bill serves the public interest. It involves the Government because it involves the public welfare. The Constitution of the United States did not make the President or the Congress powerless. It gave them definite responsibilities to advance the general welfare--and that is what we're attempting to do.
And then I read that this bill will sap the individual self-reliance of Americans. I can't imagine anything worse, or anything better, to sap someone's self-reliance, than to be sick, alone, broke--or to have saved for a lifetime and put it out in a week, two is working 60 hours at straight time, or working at 85 or 95 at a dollar an hour. Or depending upon filling out a pauper's oath and then going and getting it free."
It still took three more years to get Medicare passed. The issues that JFK spoke about 47 years ago are still being thrown up by a new bunch of neo-cons today.
If Brown wins and the Dems still pass this landmark legislation, then perhaps our kids will be blogging here and thanking them for taking a very unpopular stand.
Of course, not one cowardly Repub would dare to oppose medicare, but neither would they support the program in 1965.
Don't worry Democrats. We outnumber republicans 3 to 1 in Mass. This jackoff is going to get Hoffmaned.
ReplyDeleteWe were at Wachusett Skiing and Scott Brown's Bus Stopped in on his way back from Worcester. This is for real, people cheered and listened and cheered again. As a Massachusetts resident (Spell check Martha Spell Check) I can tell you this is the first time that Dems are so fed up with the over the top spending and Chicago deal making. This is our senate seat to work for the Nation not just for Massachusetts and there is no better way to show it than making the promise of non partisan, transparent, lobby less decisions, good than sending Brown to the Senate
ReplyDeleteDon't forget these are polls; in order to make the polls a reality you need to get out and vote.
ReplyDeleteDO NOT depend on the other person to do the voting for you.
You must get out and vote for yourself. Tell your friends and family likewise.
This is your only chance to make a difference.
Coakley is nothing more than a light weight schill for all that is wrong with our state and our country. She thinks the Senate seat is coronated with a stamp that says "Liberal Democrats only". She has no agenda other than to get elected and then run again to get elected.
Send a message to Washington that if you want something in life you need to earn it yourself and to stop using our taxes as an open ended checking account to support causes you don't believe in and would never authorize if given the choice.
Now you have a choice.
I just can't believe that people would actually vote for someone who is basically the anti-Kennedy. What a slap in the face to Kennedy and his legacy. Have people forgotten how 8 years of Republican rule have made the country what it is today? Direct your anger at the people who created this mess, not those who work to fix it.
ReplyDeleteUnless you are a union boss or a member in congress YOU DON'T want this healthcare thing to pass! Ask England how it's working for people 50 on up! You are left to die...no money allocated....WAKE UP Kool-aid drinkers...it won't benefit anyone!
ReplyDelete5 Points is within the margin of error? How many likely voters did you ask? 50? 100? Come on, be a bit more professional. The only thing depressing about this result is that Coakley is a moron who might still win.
ReplyDeleteDems: Don't worry, be happy...Brown wins on the 19th and Coakley on the 26th with the help of Galvin sec. of state who will find enough stashed votes and hidden absentee ballots to change the inevitable outcome. The shenanigans are already in place for the ACORN portion of the election.
ReplyDeleteYou would think that Americans would learn from having an incompetent administration from 2001-2009. We just keep repeating our mistakes, based on some FOX News interpretation of reality, while the rest of the industrialized world leaves us in their dust.
ReplyDelete"Anonymous said... Direct your anger at the people who created this mess, not those who work to fix it.""

Jackoff? You obviously know a lot about that. Do you keep the Brown "Cosmo" in your bathroom library just for "special" occasions? Of course you do.
And that 3-1? Yeaaaah, about that. Independents are 2-1 to DEMS here in Mass. And guess WHAT. 61% have/are voting for Brown. Croak-ley can't win! Absentee ballots counted? 54% BROWN, 32% Croak-ley
But, never fear, I'll be back tomorrow to tell you WE won, bubba. I am SURE you will like that! Maybe you can add THAT to your "special" occasions list!
Massachusetts Voters, Keep up the good work. Get our country back on track. It is " we the people", it is not what Obama,or Pelosi want. The people are speaking up and they are now being forced to listen. Thank you Mass. Voters,
ReplyDeleteGo Brown
A California citizen
61% of 'people' say that America is in a long term decline.
ReplyDelete'People say they want change.
Then they do this in Mass.
Our political system is utterly and irrevocable broken.
Thank you attack radio and TV for posioning the well instead of fostering Education, reasoned discussion and understanding of the broader context.
RIP America
Get our country "back on track", "Get our Country back" - what does that mean? The Teaparty seems to represent a set of disparate ideas - oppose this, limit that, don't do this, can't do that. If they want Gov't out of our lives, then why oppose Gay Marriage? I agree, the Gov't should not be in the marriage business. Neither should my neighbors. What you care whether the woman (or man) that I live with is my wife, companion or partner? If you want a church to bless your union - than great. If you don't then you shouldn't have to take any action (like going to the state and asking a mother may I). Go to legalzoom and make a contract & healthcare proxy.
ReplyDeleteThe Teaparty mascarades as a no-gov't involvement group, but what they really want is "gov't involvement where we want them" (i.e., Shivo case).
Just another group of hypocrites
"Limit bogus Medical Malpractice Suits!" - except, of course, when it affects you and the Doc is really a quake.
ReplyDelete"We need less Gov't" - except, of course, when Madoff makes off with billions in other peoples money and you cry out for more gov't oversight.
"Take your hands off my Healthcare" - except that it was the Dems who fought a hard-pitched battle for decades and final gave the least among us, our seniors, something to look forward to in retirement - peace of mind that one trip to the hospital wouldn't derail a few years of rest in retirement.
"Healthcare isn't broken" - except that most americans feel ill used when handed a doctors bill. Everyone wants free health care, but no one wants to pay for it.
"Separate Church and State" - except when you need to believe as I believe or you are the enemy.
Terrorism won't destroy this country, it will come from within. I'm worried about the bitter, polarizing environment that the grenade throwing pundits create. If american wants it's country back, then dump the losers on TV who create the bitterness.
America may be in decline, and it's her own people's fault. The biggest threat to america is ignorance.
"anybody can buy a truck." just about says how out of touch the limousine liberal elite are.
ReplyDeleteI hope Democrats in Massachusetts get the message: If Brown wins tomorrow (Tuesday), the healthcare bill, however imperfect parts of it may be, will either be killed by Mr. Brown, who also says he does not support torture, but quickly says he supports the use of Waterboarding as a means of interrogation of UNCHARGED suspects, or be held off by the Democratic leadership until they can find another Republican or two to pass it.
ReplyDeleteBrown doesn't give a crap that there are 47 million poeple with families that have children in them, that will go without HEALTHCARE coverage because they make a little more than Medicaid allows, and not enough to pay for health insurance. That IS what the vote tomorrow is all about!
Return of the Jedi

It is a shocker because Coakley had a 30 point lead, the Dems out register the Reps by 3 to 1, the seat has been Kennedy's since 1962. This is a referendum on Obama, healthcare, BIG government, socialism and transparency as much as her failure to convince MA voters she is the best candidate.
Another MA Independent who favored Coakley and now voting for Brown. Integrity counts, and Coakley doesn't have it. Coakley would also be a lifetime appointment, given favorable treatment by the media here in MA (so long as she's smart enough to pass the liberal litmus test). Brown is on a short leash - a 3 year trial. MA is not Texas or any other Red state. It is moderate. He must remain true to the voters, or he will lose his job in 3 years.
ReplyDeleteI was born in the UK, but became a US citizen after moving here in my mid-twenties. I am now in my forties and can attestthat the state of Helathcare in the US is the one and only thing that makes me seriously think I will have to one day return to the UK. The system here is shockingly bad compared to the UK and I can't believe that any person who has experienced both would prefer the US system. Health Insurance companies being run for profit? Denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions? Bankruptcies because of illness? It's a testament to the power of the wealthy in the US that so many people here actually believe that they're better off without a robust public healthcare option. In Britian you can buy premium private health insurance if you want it, or can afford it, or get it as corporate benefit, but you know you'll always been taken care of, no matter what, even if it's not the finest care that money can buy. Americans, we have a great country here, and so many fantastic reasons to be happy about what we have, but as far as healthcare goes, please WAKE UP!!!
ReplyDeleteScott Brown is a fraud and the GOP has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads and digital marketing teams that have made fake you tube profiles and they are waging a fierce battle online. They are buying the election via dirty tricks. Sad, but true.
ReplyDeleteI am a Massachusetts resident. You are missing 1 huge ingredient. To quote Tip - All politics is local.
ReplyDeletePeople are tired of
A. 1 party state
B. Being treated like morons
C. We don't want to be taken for granted.
D. Martha has a lot of baggage as DA. Specifically, the false prosecution of Gerry Amirault and his mother and sister. People in this have very long memories.
E. Corruption running rampant.
F. Sales tax and Meals tax were raised.
G. Property Tax rates sky rocketing.
H. Little personal connection with the voters. We like that.
I don't think Health Care is as huge as the nationals are making it out to be.
On the other side of the ledger.
Martha has the Teachers Union (hugely powerful in my beloved state), the Service Employees Union (also hugely powerful) and the Mass Municipal/State Employees Union; and an entrenched Democrat Party machine that could have picked a better canditate. With their support, she just might win.
One last thing(s)
ReplyDeleteWhy do the Democrats think Fox News is the only news source for the opposition?
BTW - Do you believe in your heart that PBS, MSNBC, CNN, are actually objective?
Dare I mention -- Boston Globe, Washington Post, NY Times, LA times, SF Chronicle, etc etc etc
Why do you have to insult the people who don't agree with your views?
Go, Brown, Go
ReplyDeleteHey, Massachusetts what do you say?
Scott Brown is going to win today.
Go, Brown, Go.
(sing it to the Chicago Cubs chant)..
How ironic is this???
short and sweet!!!
The Democrats are such scum bags that even if Brown is elected, they will keep him out of the senate until after the Obamacare vote. Also, MA basically already has that horrid health care plan, so why should anyone in MA vote for Coakley based on Obamacare?
ReplyDeleteanyone who thinks the republicans are frauds needs to seriously open their eyes. niter side is perfect but how could you say that the republicans are cheating by buying adds, and posting on YouTube? never mind the fact that ACORN registers dead and fictional people to vote for the democrats and then simply disposes of full boxes of absentee ballots in favor of the republicans. there is so much misinformation and lies that it is depressing.
ReplyDeleteThe quick decline of all you panty-sniffing, liberal socialist starts today! Can anyone guess who is rolling over in his grave right about now?????
ReplyDeleteThis is just the beginning, no matter what happens here it is a HUGE wake up call to the Dems.
ReplyDeleteNext November will be a bloodbath by the American people - turn's out they wern't so stupid as some in office thought...
Harry needs to order up some boxes I think he will be packing up headed back to Nevada.
ReplyDeleteToo soon to celebrate :
ReplyDeleteI hear the White House has located some ballets in the trunks of some cars belonging to acorn and SEIU employees in Minnesota. Apparently the "great speaker of all truths" Pinocchio Obama is sending his own plane (air force "the anointed ONE") in from Chicago (recently renamed MECCA II) to deliver these ballots, to the "Keepers of Ted's seat" in Boston. Appears they will be sent down to Chappaquiddick first for blessing before being photocopied and distributed to all polling stations. Left overs apparently from some other race - didn't use them all then, but definitely needed now. Liz (the "lizard") Pelosi and Harry (the "dealer") Reid have already given their blessings. Unfortunately Joe (the"mouth") Biden hasn't had a chance to sign off on them - apparently he is off to Afghanistan to tell the troops that Al Quaida and the Taliban are gone, and that all those road side bombs and mortar attacks are just unrelated individual criminal attacks. I' sure they will be relieved. Then I think it is off to Tehran and then the PEOPLES republic of N Korea then back to Caracus and Havana to invite all of "the great receiver of peace prizes" friends (Ahmadinejad, Kim, Hugo and Fidel) to the seating of Coakley in the Senate on the 20th (No need to count the ballots - that was done by ACCORN, under the supervision of SEIU a month ago). Just in time for the declaration of name change to "The Peoples Republic of OBAMA". United States of America just didn't work for the "Messiah". Free prayer mats and pre programmed GPS's (ALWAYS pointing to where the "Omnipotent ONE", " received of Peace Prizes", "Deteminer of all truths", "ReDistributor of all wealth "[or whats left of it anyhow], is) will be issued to all - paid for by those evil rich bastards on Wall St (excluding the ones working for the " great Uniter "(of all marxists, socialists, radical progressives, unionists, and backroom dealers) under one roof (the White House Roof). User fees to be paid (excluding unionists, registered democrats, and all other voters with IQ,s in the root vegetable range (Obama supporters all).
Victory celebrations to be held in the newly renamed "left" wing of the White House. ("West" no longer politically correct for this administration)
Oh well. Can't win 'em all. The GOP has been pummeled for several years now so it's inevitable that they'll win something.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad that Brown is a veteran so he can help marginalize the neocon morons in the Republican party. If he does win, it will be fascinating to see how he votes on various issues.
But as long as the neocons are marginalized, at least we'll all be a bit safer.

ReplyDeleteTeddy is turning in his grave. Chalk another one up to special interests and a fearful America.
So is Mary Jo Kopechne, turning in her grave that is. Like Scott Brown said, it ISN'T Ted Kennedy's seat, it's the PEOPLE'S seat. And WE have a "special interest" in cleaning out the house. Rinse and repeat until they work for US.
Baby boomers on the precipice of overwhelming us financially with increased medical care cost... medical cost that people still want to leave in the hands of a free market economy... and yet here we are... If healthcare cost increases are not riegned... do elephants actually use medicare?
ReplyDeletethe revolution part 2
ReplyDeleteAll these rolling in the grave posts made me think of something.
ReplyDeleteYa know, TV producers missed a BIG chance at a ratings killer in a special episode of
Twilight Zone" Cue in a polling place in Cape Cod. People are standing around, arguing about who is the best candidate. Note the people wearing Jersey's and Sweat Shirts of ACORN and SEIU standing ominously over cowering voters. Suddenly the door flies open, a small dervish of leaves comes into the room. People start putting hankies to their noses to help with a sudden putrid stench. As they watch, wide eyed, a rotting corpse, obviously female by her clothing, what's left of it, dripping with river mud, comes in, crosses to the ballot machines, and without a care for privacy, slams down the lever to vote for... BROWN. Then she turns and heads back to the door. Suddenly the worm eaten corpse of Teddy lurches in. As it passes the river water soaked corpse of the female, she straight punches the Teddy "thing" square on the jaw, knocking it askew. And, like when Teddy was alive, spittle was flying and flowing down his chin.
The Teddy thing tried to utter a sound. It was chilling in the putrid air. Later, the people in the polling area swore they could hear in a rotted vocal chords "Think of the KIIIIIDDDDDDS" and "Amneseeeestyyyy" as the blue/purple tongue fell out and spit flew.
The Teddy Thing seemed to forget about voting, although it did point one of the hanging, flopping flattened eyeballs toward the booth marked Croak-ley", and turned and walked back outside without pulling the lever. The Teddy Thing went out to climb back into a van marked "ACORN".
Some there can remember thinking "Who was that female corpse" and "Wonder how that Teddy Thing was going to vote"? But in truth, they already knew, yes, they knew!
Scene turns dark.
For you left wing nut jobs, reconciliation would require major components of Obamacare to be dropped. That's something that Dummocrats won't agree on. If they do decide to rush things you are aware that the liberals are "done" come November. Either way, the dems are finished.
ReplyDeleteDon't underestimate ACORN and underhanded dirty sneaky liberal "tricks". If you guys and gals haven't voted yet, please vote. Take back the country.
Vote Scott Brown for US SENATE!
Scott Brown WON, live with it!
ReplyDeleteAnd, all tose Liberals said we were crazy to think Brown would win? I won't hold my breath until even ONE of you say you apologize. Cowards, everyone.
The people of Mass. have spoken. Even though I didn't have an affinity for either candidate, I think that the residents of Mass. are sick and tired of continued taxation and being presented a hefty health care bill, all while many are still out of work. We need economic independence for our citizens before we start frying bigger fish. http://bit.ly/6Pd4Vu
ReplyDeleteMy vote to Texas.
