On deck for this week are our monthly North Carolina poll and a poll in another state so:
1) Let us know what questions beyond the usual you think we should ask in North Carolina -and-
2) Let us know what state you'd like us to poll this week.
We'll pick some finalists out of the states you suggest and put it to a vote sometime tomorrow.
New Hampshire!
ReplyDeleteHawaii
ReplyDeleteplease poll kentucky and Mississippi, dont even have a vote on those (they will never win the online vote poll). I'd like to see where those two stand. There has been ZERO polling on Mississippi. Maybe the dems might have a chance in MS-gov but we wont know if its not polled.
ReplyDelete1. Ask about how they feel about the DNC convention in 2012.
ReplyDelete2. I think Indiana would be a great place to poll. Indiana went for Democratic for the first time in years. It also would be interesting with Mitch Daniels as Gov and Mike Pence planning on running for gov. Would be an interesting poll.
Nevada now that Ensign is for sure out and Heller is in. How does Sen dem primary look? CD2 now up for grabs and talk of drawn out presidential primary makes caucus more important.
ReplyDeleteMississippi, because you could poll Governor, President and Senate.
ReplyDeleteI'd second Zack's call for Indiana.
ReplyDeleteProlonged house Democratic walkout, Pence for Governor, Donnelly for Senate, Lugar v. Mourdock in Senate Primary, lots going on in the Hoosier state.
Florida...time to see another GOP gov lose in a rematch scenario!
ReplyDeleteWhich political party receives the most contributions by special interest groups?
ReplyDeleteCan't do Indiana, folks.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Louisiana done sometime. Poll the race for President and see if Buddy Roemer has any support, as well as the Governors race. Maybe a question about the oil spill, too (i.e. if the government has done enough).
ReplyDeleteI also second Mississippi.
CT, HI, KY, MS, NH.
ReplyDeleteAsk should the United State provide financial assistance to Japan? With a follow up to those that say yes, would you support helping Japan if it would increase the deficit
ReplyDeleteMichigan!
ReplyDeleteWhat they are doing there is more perverse than anywhere else...the right to disincorporate cities and replace them with corporate "care"takers...
CONNECTICUT!!!!
ReplyDeleteNevada.
ReplyDeleteFor North Carolina, do you think you could put in a question on a Walker-like bill to take away collective bargaining? It would be interesting to see how that does in a very non-unionized state like NC.
ReplyDeleteIn North Carolina:
ReplyDelete1-Is voter ID as popular as Civitas says?
2-Is Pat McCrory strong or is Bev Perdue weak? Would McCrory fair worse against somebody like Charles Meeker, Anthony Foxx, Kay Hagan, Richard Moore or Elaine Marshall? Would Perdue fair better against a different Republican Richard Burr, Thom Tillis, Phil Berger, Fred Smith, Patrick Ballantine or one of the US House members?
3-Is there support for new nuclear plants post Japan disaster?
One more - Duke power loan to DNC.
ReplyDeleteMississippi
ReplyDeleteMississippi, Utah, or Connecticut.
ReplyDeleteFor North Carolina:
ReplyDelete1. Poll Fav/Unfav for Roy Cooper, Heath Shuler, and Mike McIntyre given the possibility that Purdue's unpopularity leads her to not run again and Shuler and McIntyre get unfavorable districts and look to run statewide.
2. Ask what North Carolinians think of restricting public employees' collective bargaining rights or some related questions (since NC is right to work).
3. I know you all like to ask the non-political question now and then, so how about asking something about which ACC team from NC has had the best basketball program.
For another state to poll I would suggest Connecticut since PPP hasn't polled there in a while, or Hawaii since the beltway media seems to think Linda Lingle has a chance there.
Do New Hampshire. Check the generic ballot to find out if lsat year's GOP resurgence in the state was a blip or a trend.
ReplyDeleteAlso, check Obama vs. the GOPers and see if Lynch can win a 5th term.
Poll Michigan; a recent poll has Romney ahead of Obama in the state, and I want to see how it goes with a second pollster. At the same time, Michigan's Senate race probably leans Democratic but could very well be competitive.
ReplyDeleteNew Hampshire
ReplyDeleteWashington
Connecticut
Hawaii
Oregon
"For North Carolina, do you think you could put in a question on a Walker-like bill to take away collective bargaining? It would be interesting to see how that does in a very non-unionized state like NC."
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure a hypothetical like that would make sense since we already don't have collective bargaining.
Michigan please! My home state as well as yours.
ReplyDeleteFor NC poll: Perhaps just ask "Do you think North Carolina should allow collective bargaining?"
ReplyDelete1. Vermont! If this gets chosen, poll both the sanders race against Salmon, but the governor's race against Dubie, Douglas, Randy Brock or Salmon, in case he wants to switch races.
ReplyDelete2. Target's been taking some bad press over supporting anti GLBT groups, poll if a person would be more or less likely to shop at a store that discriminates against GLBT or unchanged. Maybe in a second question list an actual store many people shop at, like target or Walmart, just to make the question less hypothetical.
Michigan or Florida - States with Governors that are causing controversy and they have presidential implications. I'm starting to think the 2010 elections were the best thing that could have happened for Obama in 2012.
ReplyDeleteIndiana! (Just kidding, I know it's not economically feasible to do an Indiana poll)
ReplyDeleteNew Hampshire is about due. Partisan preference for control of state government. Opinions on nuclear power (relevant given the Japanese situation as well as not-too-long-ago questions about seepage from Vermont Yankee). Level of support for marriage equality. Whether students and soldiers should be able to vote in NH (state Republicans have been trying to pass a bill to prevent any 'temporary residents' from voting in NH). Presidential race if Romney *doesn't* run (perhaps because he saw the numbers about how hard he'd get hammered on Romneycare).
It's not anything remotely resembling a race at the presidential level, but Washington D.C., with support for statehood, support for a handgun ban, and support for marriage equality.
Utah. How bad is Hatch struggling? There's some people saying he might be struggling even among the primary electorate. (let alone the convention)
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen!
ReplyDeleteNew Hampshire, Hawaii or Vermont!
ReplyDeleteNew Hampshire
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain the "can't do Indiana"/"not economically feasible" comments?
ReplyDeleteThe Indiana robocall law specifically exempts survey gathering (unless there has been a recent court case).
