McCrory's civility pledge

No surprise that when filing yesterday Pat McCrory introduced a pledge for a positive campaign.

McCrory has the highest name recognition, plenty of money, and a solid lead in the polls already over his Republican rivals. If the primary campaign is a ho hum positive affair, it will be very hard for any of his opponents to over take him.

The only way Fred Smith or Bill Graham wins this thing is to hammer McCrory's record to paint him as a liberal and turn conservative voters away from him. And really they probably need to start doing it soon- waiting until April is risky- if I was them I'd be on the air hammering McCrory by early March

It's a nice try by the front runner but I think his opponents know that if they stay positive, they're toast.
